Browse through the different classes we have to offer your child. We enable you to give her or him the best childhood experiences.
Primary care providers respond to our older babies according to each one's unique moods, needs, and daily routine. Daily charts, completed by parents and staff, provide direct, accurate exchange of information and continuity of care from home to center. Individualized activity plans are developed every six weeks to assure proper stimulation.
Our Saplings spend a lot of their time working independently or in groups with manipulative games that promote reading and math readiness skills. Circle-times are longer and more involved, and include discussion of weekly learning topics and current family events. Dramatic play in the housekeeping and block area keeps a child of this age occupied for long periods of time as they carry out projects they have planned. Add stories, gross motor activities, science, art, fine motor activities and nap time and you have a very well-rounded day.
Our K through 5th graders fit a lot of action into their before and after school hours! Snacks, outdoor play including group games, art and cooking projects, indoor games, reading/homework time, and computers make for an enriching program. Cooperative interaction is emphasized. Little Acorns provides transportation to and from schools. We are open for full-day care on school closing days. (Mighty Oaks class goals)
The Mighty Oaks group does not operate during the summer, when we serve children only up to age 6 (pre-kindergarten).
We keep separate wait lists for each group. If your child is not placed before aging out of a group, we advance him or her to the next wait list.
We update our wait lists every 3-4 months by calling families to see if they still want to be on the list.
If we leave you a message please call us back. If we do not hear back within a week we will remove you from our wait list. This ensures that our list is not full of families who no longer need our care.
To be placed on Little Acorns' wait list, simply call us at 301-983-4372 (Monday-Friday) or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
